Observant Solo Kits

Description

The compact nature of the Observant Solo, along with its well prescribed installation requirements naturally lends it to be able to be combined with further hardware in the form of a kit. Two such kits were designed for use with the Solo, one integrates an off-the-shelf ultrasonic sensor for water level measurement, the other a V1 camera.

Economics of quantity dictated that these kits needed to be produced without the large tooling costs associated with injection moulding. They also needed to be compact and lightweight, while maintaining the strength and durability required of the entire product line. To that end the kits are comprised of two main parts; a laser cut aluminium mounting bracket and a post section CNC machined from UV stable PET resin. In the case of the tank level kit the ultrasonic sensor is housed withing the mounting post, and a simple adaptor is used in the case of the camera kit. Both versions house all cabling within the post to further increase the durability of the installation.
